Terms of use

Draft, 23 September 2026. Under legal review before launch.

These terms cover using LetsBeta: finding software, trying it, listing your own software, and what everybody agrees to. They are written in plain language on purpose.

  1. 1.Who we are and what LetsBeta does

LetsBeta is an introduction service. Builders list software that is open for a free trial, and businesses (we call them Early Adopters) apply, try the software in their own business, send feedback and can then subscribe at a discount the builder offers.

We do not host, sell, or guarantee any builder's software. The software runs on the builder's own service, under the builder's own terms, and any subscription afterwards is an agreement between the two of you.

  2. 2.Your account

    • You need a verified email address and a real name to take part. Email and password signup uses a PIN sent to your inbox. One account per person.
    • You must be 18 or over and acting for a business.
    • Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us straight away if someone else gets into your account.
    • You can use both sides of LetsBeta: list your own software and try other people's.
  3. 3.Trying software (Early Adopters)

    • Trying software through LetsBeta is free. There is no subscription and no payment for taking part.
    • To keep spots open for other businesses, you can have up to three trials in progress at a time.
    • When you are accepted, you get an Access Card and sign up on the builder's own site. Use the software honestly, in your real business where you can.
    • You are expected to send the feedback the listing asks for: a mid-trial report and an end-of-trial report.
    • Any discount is offered and honoured by the builder, not by LetsBeta. The listing shows the full price, the early-adopter price and how long it lasts.
    • These Early Adopter software trials are separate from the website-only App Testing campaigns described below. Early Adopter trials are unpaid.
  4. 4.Website App Testing campaigns

    • App Testing is a separate website-only marketplace for genuine Android app testing, including published-app usability tests and Google Play closed tests. A developer posts a campaign, selects testers, reviews private evidence and feedback, and pays only for accepted work. For closed tests, the developer must confirm opt-in in Google Play Console. We cannot verify Google's opt-in counter or guarantee production approval.
    • The developer chooses the reward per accepted tester, from A$3. LetsBeta adds a 20% service fee, rounded up to the nearest cent. The complete per-tester price appears before the campaign is posted and again at checkout. An offered or rejected place is not billable. Processing costs are borne by LetsBeta from its fee.
    • A tester must use the app genuinely, provide their own accurate screenshot and written report for a published-app test or daily check-ins for a closed test, and give honest final feedback. Paid public ratings or reviews, artificial installs, false screenshots and deceptive activity are prohibited. Testers must not include passwords or other people's sensitive information in evidence.
    • The developer is responsible for giving testers access, verifying continuous opt-in and deciding work fairly. Rejections require a reason and may be disputed with support. LetsBeta may withhold or reverse fraudulent payouts. Accepted work is paid by the developer through website Stripe checkout; tester rewards require completed Stripe Connect onboarding and a successful developer payment.
    • No campaign is promised a particular number of applicants, completion date, Google Play approval or release to production. A replacement tester starts their own opt-in period; earlier days do not transfer. This service is not affiliated with Google.
  5. 5.Confidentiality of software in testing

    • Software on LetsBeta is often unreleased. What you see during a trial that is not public (features, screens, prices, plans, the Access Card and anything the builder marks as confidential) is confidential.
    • Use it only to try the software and give feedback. Do not share, publish, copy or reverse-engineer it, or use it to build a competing product, during the trial or afterwards.
    • This does not cover what was already public, what you knew before, or what the law requires you to disclose. A builder may ask you to accept their own confidentiality terms as well; those are between you and the builder.
  6. 6.Listing software (builders)

    • Everything in your listing must be accurate: what the software does, the trial length, the seats, the price and the discount.
    • Every listing is reviewed before it goes live, and we can send it back or take it down if it breaks these terms.
    • Honour the trial and the discount you advertise, for the period you advertise.
    • Decide on applications in good time, and keep the Access Card details working.
    • You may not use LetsBeta to collect contact details for marketing that has nothing to do with the trial.
  7. 7.What builders pay

    • Builder Free: one beta program with up to three seats.
    • Builder Pro: a subscription for more programs and seats, full analytics and feedback export, and priority review. The first 100 Pro subscriptions get a founding price, which they keep for as long as the subscription stays active.
    • Builder Max: everything in Pro, plus demand insights and introductions to businesses that asked to be contacted.
    • Pro and Max can be paid monthly or yearly (a year costs ten months). You can move from Pro to Max at any time; the difference is prorated.
    • Sponsored placement: a one-off payment that pins one approved listing to the top of its category for seven days. Category sponsorship: a one-off payment that sponsors a whole category for thirty days. Both are always labelled Sponsored.
    • The price shown at checkout is the price you pay, in the currency shown. Website payments are handled by Stripe. Digital purchases in the iOS app are handled by Apple's in-app purchase system, with RevenueCat used to validate purchase status.
    • Apple subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation, and renewal is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings; manage website subscriptions from Billing. Access continues until the paid period ends.
  8. 8.Success fee on customers who came through LetsBeta

    • When an Early Adopter becomes a paying customer at the end of a trial, LetsBeta earns a success fee: 15% of what that customer pays you for their first 6 months. After 6 months you keep 100%.
    • If you connect your own Stripe account, the customer subscribes through it and the fee is taken automatically by Stripe from those payments. The customer, the subscription and the billing are yours.
    • If you have not connected Stripe, the Early Adopter gets an early-adopter code for your own site. You confirm on LetsBeta whether they became a customer, and we invoice the fee for confirmed customers.
    • If you refund a customer, our share of that payment is refunded with it.
  9. 9.Refunds

    • Subscriptions: you can cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the period you paid for. We do not refund part-used periods, except where the law requires it or we made a mistake.
    • Sponsored placement and category sponsorship: refundable in full if you ask before the sponsorship starts showing. Once it has started, it is not refundable.
    • If we refund or reverse a payment (including a chargeback), the plan or sponsorship it paid for ends.
    • Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or the consumer law of your country. To ask for a refund, email support.
    • For purchases billed by Apple, request a refund through Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com service. Apple handles those refund decisions under its applicable policies and your statutory rights.
  10. 10.Keeping things on LetsBeta

Contact details are blocked in listings and messages. That keeps introductions on the platform, where both sides have a record of what was agreed, and protects people from being contacted outside the trial.

Builders must not take an Early Adopter introduced by LetsBeta off the platform in order to avoid our fees.

  11. 11.Fair use and behaviour

    • Be honest in feedback. Do not write reports for software you never used.
    • No abuse, spam, scraping, or attempts to break the service.
    • No listing of software you do not have the right to sell or distribute.
    • We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and remove content that does.
  12. 12.Your content

You keep ownership of what you write: listings, reports, messages and ratings. You give LetsBeta permission to show that content on the service, and to show ratings and anonymised statistics publicly.

Feedback you send a builder is theirs to use to improve their software.

  13. 13.No warranty, and the limits of our responsibility

LetsBeta introduces businesses to software. We do not promise that any software works for you, that a builder will accept you, or that a trial will lead to a discount.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by software you found here, or by a builder or an Early Adopter. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law in your country, including the Australian Consumer Law.

  14. 14.Ending it

You can stop using LetsBeta at any time and delete your account from Settings. We can end or suspend access if these terms are broken. Trials and subscriptions already agreed with a builder are between you and that builder.

  15. 15.Changes to these terms

We will post changes here and, for anything important, tell account holders by email or a notice in the app before it takes effect.

  16. 16.Law

These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction, unless the law of the country you live in says otherwise.
