Draft, 23 September 2026. Under legal review before launch.

This explains what LetsBeta collects, why, who can see it and what you can ask us to do. It covers everyone who uses LetsBeta, wherever they are.

  1. 1.What we collect

    • Account details: your name, email address and mobile number. Email and password signup verifies your email with a PIN. Where mobile verification is required for a feature, we use SMS verification.
    • Business details you choose to add: occupation, business type, company size and region.
    • What you do here: listings, applications, feedback reports, ratings, messages on accepted trials, and what you told us at the end of a trial.
    • If you join an App Testing campaign on the website: your application, opt-in screenshot, daily screenshots and written check-ins, final feedback, developer review and payment/payout status. Screenshots may contain information from the app under test; please hide passwords and other sensitive details before uploading.
    • Website payment details are collected by Stripe. In-app purchases on iOS are processed by Apple and validated through RevenueCat. We keep account, product, transaction and subscription identifiers and purchase status to provide the features you bought; we do not store your full payment-card details.
    • Basic technical information: device and browser data, and error logs, so the site keeps working.
  2. 2.Why we use it

    • To run the service: matching businesses with software, showing applications to builders, and keeping trials on track.
    • To verify account ownership and to stop abuse, spam and fake feedback.
    • To show builders who applied — your business summary and your reports, never your contact details.
    • To take payments from builders and to keep records for tax and accounting.
    • To review paid App Testing work, show private evidence to the campaign developer, calculate only accepted work for billing, and arrange rewards through Stripe Connect when enabled.
    • To send service messages about your trials, listings and account.
  3. 3.Our legal basis (for people in the UK and the EU)

We use your information to perform the agreement between us (running your trials and listings), for our legitimate interests (keeping the service safe and improving it), and with your consent where consent is needed, such as optional messages from builders. You can withdraw consent at any time.

  4. 4.What other people can see

    • Builders see the business summary on your application, your note, and the reports you send them.
    • In App Testing, the campaign developer and LetsBeta moderators can see your submitted screenshots and check-ins. They are not public. The developer must separately verify Google Play opt-in in Play Console; our screenshots cannot prove it.
    • Builders do not see your email address or phone number. Contact details are blocked in listings and messages.
    • Public pages show listings, ratings and counts, not the people behind them.
    • We never sell your details, and we do not pass them to a builder for marketing unless you have opted in.
  5. 5.Who processes data for us

    • Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage and SMS verification).
    • Vercel (hosting).
    • Stripe (website payments and, where App Testing rewards are enabled, connected-account payouts to testers).
    • Apple (iOS purchases) and RevenueCat (purchase validation, subscription status and restores). RevenueCat receives your LetsBeta account identifier and purchase information for this purpose.
    • Amazon Web Services SES (sending emailed account-verification PINs).
    • Resend (sending account and trial emails: new applications, decisions, messages, report reminders, and the newsletter if you subscribe).
    • These providers act on our instructions. Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
  6. 6.How long we keep it

Account and trial records are kept while your account is open, and for up to seven years afterwards where tax, accounting or dispute records require it. You can delete your account yourself from Settings, or ask us to; we then remove or anonymise what we are not required to keep. Messages you sent in someone else's trial are kept anonymised, because they are part of the other person's record too. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe.

App Testing evidence is kept while a campaign or payment dispute needs it, then deleted or anonymised when the associated account is deleted except for records that must be retained for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Contact support to request a copy or earlier removal where permitted.

  7. 7.Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to send it to another service. Email support@letsbeta.com and we will reply within 30 days.

You can also complain to your privacy regulator: the OAIC in Australia, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand, the ICO in the United Kingdom, your data protection authority in the EU, the ANPD in Brazil, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in Canada.

  8. 8.Cookies and storage

We use your browser's storage for sign-in, your language, and small preferences such as the period shown on your Dashboard. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

  9. 9.Children

LetsBeta is for businesses. It is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

  10. 10.Changes

We will post changes here and tell account holders about anything important before it takes effect.
